Motorist Faces Charges in Accident that Injured Cop
Detroit A New York man was charged Monday with several felonies after a Detroit Police officer was hit Sunday and seriously injured by a car going the wrong way. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Saddam Hussein Mohsin, 30, of Buffalo with assault with intent to commit murder — punishable by up to life in prison — plus assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, reckless driving causing serious impairment, felonious assault and marijuana possession. The officer was on foot patrol in Greektown when he was hit by a Ford Focus about 12:20 a.m. at St. Antoine and Monroe. Mohsin is to be arraigned today in 36th District Court. From The Detroit News
