Brentwood man charged with DWI after crash

Published on September 7, 2009 By James Bernstein, newsday.com   A Brentwood man was arrested and charged with drunken driving after his car struck four other vehicles Sunday night, resulting in three injuries, Suffolk police said.   Police arrested Moises Reyes, 54, of 116 Chestnut St., after the incident at 8:10 p.m.   Reyes first crashed into another car in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store on Broadway and Second Avenue in Brentwood, police said. They said he left the scene, but was followed by the driver of the car he hit.   Police said Reyes drove east on Alkier Street on the wrong side of the road and hit a 2007 Honda CRV head-on at the corner of Gibson Avenue. He continued eastbound and hit two other occupied cars before his 1995 Dodge Dakota pickup truck overturned on Front Street, police said.   Two of the motorists were taken to Southside Hospital with neck and back injuries. Their names were not immediately released. Reyes was also taken to Southside where he was treated and released. Reyes was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.   He is to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip Monday.   Third Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
